NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team will put its 7-1 record on the line starting Friday, Feb. 10 at South Carolina (5-0) at noon, before taking on Clemson (7-1) on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Old Dominion’s only loss coming from at the hands of No. 3 nationally ranked Ohio State at the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Monarchs are coming off a 5-2 victory against Elon.

Old Dominion standout Adam Moundir was ranked at No. 18 in this week’s ITA Rankings. Moundir jumped up six places from his No. 24 spot in the preseason rankings. Moundir is 6-0 for the Monarchs and will look to snag two more victories this weekend in South Carolina. Michael Weindl has started the season off strong as well, boasting a 4-0 record in singles play. Additionally, Aziz Kijametovic moved to 5-2 after the match against Elon.

Meet South Carolina:
South Carolina has started the season cruising to a 5-0 record. The Gamecocks had four players ranked in the ITA Preseason Rankings. Sophomore Yancy Dennis at No.75, junior Gabriel Friedrich at No.76, junior Harrison O’Keefe at No. 89 and Junior Thomas Mayronne at No. 92. Fast-forward to the first ranking of the spring season this week, the Gamecocks see Thomas Mayronne drop to No. 107, Yancy Dennis to No. 110, and Gabriel Friedrich to No. 121.

Harrison O’Keefe- Junior, No.2 spot, 5-0
No. 1 Doubles Paring with Yancy Dennis, 3-0

No. 107 Thomas Mayronne -Junior, No. 3 spot, 3-1

No. 110 Yancy Dennis - Sophomore, No. 4 spot, 3-0
No. 1 Doubles Pairing with Harrison O’Keefe, 3-0

Meet Clemson:
The Clemson Tigers have started off the season with a 7-1 record, winning their first seven matches before falling to Alabama in their last match. They started off the season with a close win against Georgia Southern 4-3, followed by convincing wins against the Citadel 6-1, Winthrop 4-0, Davidson 6-1 and Wofford 7-0.  The Tigers picked up a 4-3 victory against Michigan State, before defeating Presbyterian College 4-0. Clemson’s win streak was snapped in Tuscaloosa, losing to Alabama 5-2.

Daffra Sanon – Senior, No. 2 spot, 6-2
Ranked No.123 in Preseason ITA Poll, dropped out of rankings this past week.

Robert Dudley – Senior, No. 3 spot, 7-1
