IRVING, Texas -- After averaging 36.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a pair of Old Dominion victories, Jennie Simms has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Simms led the Lady Monarchs to a 86-64 victory at FIU on Thursday with 32 points, seven rebounds and six assists and then followed with 43 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in the 93-73 win at Florida Atlantic on Saturday. Simms shot 56.6 percent from the field during the week and also tied her career high with three blocks each in both games.

The 40-point performance at FAU was Simms' third career game of 40 or more points, giving her the most 40+ scoring games in ODU history. The two games of 30+ moved Simms' career number of 30+ scoring games to 14, also the most in school history.

Simms, the nation's second-leading scorer at 25.8 points per game, also passed Nyree Roberts for eighth on the ODU all-time scoring list with 1,913 career points.

The award is Simms' fourth of the season, which is the most in C-USA this season, and the fifth of her career. Read the conference's official release here
