NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion Head Football Coach Bobby Wilder spoke at the Norfolk Sports Club luncheon on Monday morning at Hits at the Park at Harbor Park.

Wilder led the Monarchs to a 10-3 record in 2016, including a 24-20 win over Eastern Michigan in the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl, the first bowl game in school history.

The 10-win season was the first for the Monarchs as an FBS program, and the third for Wilder as head coach of the Monarchs. He is joined by Doc Holliday of Marshall and David Bailiff (Texas State, Rice), as the only three C-USA head coaches to have three, 10-win seasons.

The Monarchs return 16 starters from a year ago, including all-time leading rusher Ray Lawry, as well as Oshane Ximines, who set the ODU single-season record for sacks in 2016 with 7.5.
