NORFOLK, Va. -- 
The Old Dominion women's basketball team welcomes Rice and North Texas to the Ted Constant Center this weekend. The Lady Monarchs host Rice on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m., before taking on North Texas on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. for Alumni Night.

Both games will be streamed live on CUSA.tv. Thursday's contest can be heard on STAR 1310 and Saturday's game will be on ESPN Radio 94.1. Both the video and radio broadcasts will feature play-by-play from Doug Ripley and commentary from Susan Montgomery.

Old Dominion (8-10, 3-4 C-USA) is looking to rebound from an 86-75 loss to Charlotte at home last Saturday. The Lady Monarchs are the top rebounding team in the conference, as ODU leads C-USA in rebounding margin with a +5.4 advantage per game. Jennie Simms, who was named to the USBWA National Player of the Year Midseason Watch List on Tuesday, is the nation's second-leading scorer at 24.8 points per game, while Destinee Young ranks 19th in the NCAA in double-doubles with 10.

Rice (11-7, 2-5 C-USA) entered C-USA play with 9-2 overall record, but have just two victories through the first seven conferecence games. ODU opened C-USA play with a 59-47 win over the Owls in Houston on Dec. 30, as Simms scored 19 of her 26 points in the second half. The Owls have the top-ranked scoring defense in the conference, as Rice is allowing just 57.2 points per game.

North Texas (6-12, 3-4 C-USA) enters the weekend in a tie with Old Dominion and three other teams for sixth place in the conference standings. The Mean Green, who defeated ODU, 65-55, in Denton back on Jan. 1, have lost three of their last four. Terriell Bradley lead the team with 13.3 points per game, and, defensively, UNT forces 19.8 turnovers per game, which ranks second in the C-USA.
