NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team hosts Charlotte on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 4 p.m. at the Ted Constant Center on Military Appreciation Night.
A limited number of Tickets For Troops are available for current and former members of the military at YNotTix.com and the TRADOC Herald Trumpets will perform the national anthem.
Saturday's game will be streamed on CUSA.tv and will also be aired on ESPN Radio 94.1. Both the live stream and radio broadcast will feature play-by-play from Doug Ripley and color commentary from Susan Montgomery.
Old Dominion (8-9, 3-3 C-USA) is coming off of a 69-64 victory at LA Tech last Saturday. Through six Conference USA games, the Lady Monarchs rank second in the league in field goal percentage at 45.5 percent and third in three-point percentage at 36.7 percent. Individually, Jennie Simms leads ODU with the nation's second-best scoring average at 24.4 points per game, while Destinee Young is averaging a double-double with 10.5 points and 10.4 rebounds.
Charlotte (13-4, 5-1 C-USA) enters Saturday in a three-way tie at the top of the C-USA standings with WKU and Middle Tennessee. The 49ers have won 10 of their last 11 games with the only loss coming at LA Tech, 80-54, last Thursday. Grace Hunter leads a trio of 49ers in double figures with 16.4 points per game, as the 49ers have the conference's top-ranked offense in C-USA play with 76.8 points per game.
ODU leads the all-time series with Charlotte, 13-5, and won all three matchups against the 49ers last season, including a victory in the C-USA Tournament quarterfinals.
