GREENVILLE, N.C. - Old Dominion University swimming and diving dropped their road finale of the 2016-17 season at East Carolina on Saturday. The women fell 171-117, while the men lost 175-113.

Sophomore Ashley Brem led the way for the women, picking up a win in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:05.65, edging out teammate Ashley Teller by .20.  Brem also picked up a win in the 100 fly with a time of 59.76. Teller also finished second in the 200 breastroke in a time of 2:22.54.

Victoria Barley won the 500 free with a time of 5:16.46, while Leigh-Ann Clark took second in 5:23.19.

Colleen VandePoel earned second place in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.48, as her sister, Jacklyn VandePoel, took second in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:07.34.

The Lady Monarchs completed the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, as Stephanie Norris, Victoria Barley, Sofie Sjoberg and Leigh-Ann Clark finished in 3:39.03.

Graham Thatcher earned the first win of the day for the men, grabbing a victory in the 50 free with a time of 21.52.

Lucas Cortini Oliveira was a winner in the 500 free in 4:53.24, while teammate Donovan Pope finished second in a time of 4:54.57.

Filip Svedberg earned his first win as a member of the ODU team, taking first in the 100 fly in a time of 50.14.

In the 200 IM, Anton Mikaelsson won with a time of 1:53.85, while Luke Cowden was second in 1:59.95.

ODU finished the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, as the team of Svedberg, Connor Davis, Jacob Zeidler and Graham Thatcher won in 3:09.82

The Monarchs wrap up the regular season next Saturday, Jan. 21, whey they host George Washington at 2 p.m. in the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool.
