IRVING, TEXAS – Old Dominion men’s soccer places four athletes in the 2016 All-Conference USA teams. Regular season champion, Charlotte men’s soccer, swept the specialty awards, announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
Senior midfielder Jesse Miralrio received his fourth consecutive All-Conference team laurels making the second-team all-conference for the 2016 season. Miralrio made the all-freshmen team in 2013 and received spots on the third-team all-conference in 2014 and 2015. He is currently tied for the lead in goals with three, alongside Niko Klosterhalfen, and has six points on the year.
Cole Stringer, a senior midfielder, also made second-team all-conference alongside Miralrio. The recognition is the third time Stringer has made an all-conference team with places on the 2013 All-C-USA Freshman team and the third-team All-C-USA in 2015. Stringer finished the regular season with one goal and three assists for five points and was a team leader as one of this years captains.
Earning his second career all-conference laurels is reining Freshman of the Year, Niko Klosterhalfen. The sophomore from Koenigswinter, Germany, is tied for the team-lead in goals with three and is second in points with seven. Klosterhalfen makes the 2016 All-C-USA third-team as the third Monarch to receive all-conference accolades.
Wrapping up the Monarchs all-conference awards is redshirt-freshman Sebastien Hauret. A redshirt-freshman from Paris, France, Hauret represents Old Dominion on the C-USA All-Freshman team. The award comes after scoring two goals and recording six assists in the regular season to lead the Monarchs with 10 points.
Old Dominion faces (RV) South Carolina on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 4:30 p.m. in the second match of the quarterfinals at the 2016 Conference USA Men’s soccer tournament.
