NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University senior offensive lineman Tyler Compton and junior defensive end Bunmi Rotimi were named CoSIDA Academic All-District, the College Sports Information Director’s of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.

This is the third-straight year Compton has received the honor, while it is the first of Rotimi’s career.

Compton has played in all eight games this season on the offensive line and special teams, and has started two games at left guard.

A native of Virginia Beach, Compton graduated with a degree in mathematics in two and half years with a 3.92 GPA, and is on pace to earn his MBA in May and holds a 3.77 GPA.   This is his third-straight CoSIDA all-District honor and he is a two-time All-Conference USA Academic Team member.

Rotimi has started all eight games at defensive end and leads all Monarch defensive lineman with 29 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. He has a team-best five sacks on the season.

Rotimi is from Alexandria, Virginia, and has a 3.40 GPA in marketing.

All First Team Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballots, where first-, second- and third-team All-America selections take place.
