NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s basketball team (3-2) returns home for a game against Dartmouth (0-3) on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The Monarchs are coming off three close games in three days against opponents from the ACC, SEC and Big East at the Battle 4 Atlantis last week. ODU gave No. 10 Louisville all they could handle before ultimately falling in overtime, 68-62. In the second game against LSU, Old Dominion dropped another close call by six, 66-60. The Monarchs then downed St. John’s in the third game, 63-55.

Old Dominion has been led by Brandan Stith, who is averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Also averaging double-figures is Ahmad Caver with a 10.8 average, while leading the squad in assists with 4.4 per contest. Jordan Baker follows, averaging 9.4 ppg and 3.2 rpg. Denzell Taylor leads ODU in rebounds, hauling down 10.2 per outing.

Dartmouth enters the week with a 0-3 overall record after suffering losses to Rhode Island (84-61), Fairfield (79-62) and Marist (75-69). The Big Green takes on Longwood on Monday night in Farmville, before making the trek to Norfolk.

Monarch Nuggets
-In all five games so far this season, Old Dominion has scored between 60 and 64 points.

-Ahmad Caver is coming off a career high of 15 points versus St. John’s in the final game of the Battle 4 Atlantis, while Trey Porter also had a career day, going for 12 points and nine rebounds.

-Denzell Taylor is ranked No. 1 in the country for offensive rebounds per game with 5.40 and No. 23 in NCAA Division I for total rebounds per contest with 10.2.

-As a team, Old Dominion ranks No. 6 in the country (1st in C-USA) for offensive rebounds per game with 16.40.

-ODU’s 43.80 rebounds per game ranks 15th nationally and first in the conference. 

-The Monarchs defense holds opponents to 27.6% shooting from three-point range, which ranks 25th nationally and first in Conference USA. 

-Old Dominion allows 61.0 points per contest, which ranks 24 in the country and is first in the conference. 

-ODU holds opponents to 38.6% shooting from the floor, which ranks 54th in the NCAA and first in the C-USA. 

Radio for Wednesday Night
Old Dominion Senior Associate Athletic Director Ted Alexander will take care of the play-by-play duties, while ODU Hall of Famer and former NBA champion Dave Twardzik will handle color commentary. Ted and Dave’s live pregame show will begin at 6:30 p.m. EST.

All-Time Series
Old Dominion and Dartmouth have only met one time, which came during the 1976-77 season as part of the Kiwanis Old Dominion Classic, in a game that the Monarchs won 95-70.
