IRVING, Texas – Kathryn Hill of the Old Dominion women’s soccer team was named to the Conference USA InTouch Credit Union All-Academic First Team on Wednesday afternoon. Hill is a repeat honoree from a year ago.
Hill, an All-Conference USA Second Team member is third on the Lady Monarchs squad in points with six. The C-USA All-Academic First Team honoree from last year is now a senior captain and has started and played all 90+ minutes in all 17 games played in, as she just missed one match due to injury.
Hill is a role-model as a student, her 3.81 GPA as a biology major proves her commitment and consistency to the classroom. She has garnered C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition, been a Dean’s List recipient every semester at ODU, while also earning C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medals. Hill is tied for second on the team for goals with two and assists with two. The Dalry, Scotland-native scored her two goals while only attempting six shots on goal this entire season.
The C-USA’s commitment to excellence continues to show as 25 student-athletes have been named to the 2016 C-USA InTouch Credit Union Women's Soccer All-Academic Teams. Nine different schools are represented on the all-academic first team
The 2016 Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship kicks off Wednesday at Transamerica Field in Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte will host Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Old Dominion, Rice, UTEP and WKU for the eight-team, three-day championship. All four quarterfinal matches and both semifinal games will be streamed on CUSA TV. The championship match is set for Sunday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. EST and will be aired live on ESPN3.
Old Dominion earned a No. 8 seed and will take on No. 1 seeded North Texas today at 11:00 a.m. This match can be viewed live in HD via C-USA TV.
