CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Emilie Petit and Ashley Brem recorded top-four finishes to lead the Old Dominion University swimming and diving team Friday night at the Hokie Fall Invitational.

The women’s 200 medley relay team of Colleen VandePoel, Ashley Brem, Emilie Petit and Sofie Sjoberg finished fifth with a time of 1:43.05, finishing ahead of a pair of teams from Virginia Tech, Villanova, UConn and Purdue.

Petit registered the top finish of the day and a career-best time, placing third in the 400 IM in a time of 4:22.61.

Brem was one spot behind, taking fourth place in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:02.30.

Jacob Zeidler finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.14.

VandePoel added another top-eight finish for the Lady Monarchs, finishing seventh in the 100 backstroke in a time of 55.14.

The women’s squad sits in sixth place after two days with 184 points, while the men’s team is in eighth with 85 points.
