CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Old Dominion men’s basketball team will compete in the 2017 Gildan Charleston Classic, along with Auburn, Clemson, Dayton, Hofstra, Indiana State, Ohio and Temple. Next year, the tournament will be held on Nov. 16, 17 and 19 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C.
The Gildan Charleston Classic is one of 11 college basketball events that is owned and operated by ESPN Events, a division of ESPN.
This family-friendly tournament offers the teams a week of practice, play and experiences in and around historic Charleston.

• Dayton earned a No. 7 seed in last year’s NCAA Tournament
• Temple earned a No. 10 seed in last year’s NCAA Tournament
• Hofstra participated in the NIT as a No. 5 seed
• Clemson played in the championship game of the Gildan Charleston Classic in 2013 and won the tournament in 2008
Old Dominion is currently gearing up for its three games in three days at the Battle 4 Atlantis next week. The Monarchs will first take on No. 12 Louisville on Wed. Nov. 23 at 9:30 p.m. on AXS TV.

ODU will play either Wichita State or LSU on Thursday, Nov. 24 and then will take on Michigan St./Baylor/St. John's or VCU on Friday, Nov. 25.
