ST. MARY'S, Md. -- The Old Dominion sailing team placed ninth out of 18 teams at the War Memorial in St. Mary's, Maryland last weekend.
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy took home the team championship, while Georgetown and George Washington rounded out the top three, respectively. ODU placed ninth.
The Monarchs grabbed fifth out of 18 in Division A, as Jeremy Herrin and Carter Little turned in six top-five finishes out of the 11 contested races.
In Division B, Dreugh Phillips and Gabriel Smith defeated SUNY Maritime College in a head-to-head tiebreaker to claim ninth. The Monarch duo registered two top-five finishes.
ODU is back in action this weekend at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships on Nov. 5 in Galveston, Texas.
