IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion’s Kathryn Hill and Jackie Stroud garnered All-Conference USA Second Team honors, while Iris Achterhof was named to the All C-USA Third Team, as announced by conference officials on Tuesday afternoon.

Hill, a repeat All-Conference USA selection, earned All-Second Team honors this season. The Dalry, Scotland-native is currently tied for second on the team with two assists, as well as tied for second for goals with two and is third on the team in points with six. Hill was also named to the All-Conference USA Academic Team last season. This season, Hill was named a captain of the Old Dominion team.

Stroud, who was just named Conference USA Defender of the Week yesterday, was named to the All C-USA Second Team today. As a central defender, Stroud has scored two goals this season for Old Dominion, which is tied for second on the team, to go along with her four points, which is tied for fourth on the squad. She scored goals against No. 17 South Florida & North Texas, both of which are currently at the top of their conferences. As a captain, the Raleigh, N.C.-native has started every game this season, playing almost every possible minute.

Old Dominion played a total of 10 C-USA games this season and five resulted in ODU pitching a shutout. The Lady Monarchs defense has a total of eight matches this season of allowing one goal or less.

Achterhof, the 2015 C-USA Freshman of the Year and All-Conference USA Second Team honoree, was named to the All C-USA Third Team today. The Groningen, Netherlands-native leads ODU in points with 11, assists with three and is tied for first for goals with four. Her three game-winners also are the most for the Lady Monarchs. Achterhof also leads Old Dominion in shots with 38 and shots on goal at 19. She has started every match this season for head coach Angie Hind.

Achterhof scored the match’s only goal at WKU to spoil the Lady Toppers Senior Night last Friday in Bowling Green. That victory, plus ODU’s at FIU on Sunday afternoon, punched the Lady Monarchs ticket to the 2016 Conference USA Tournament, which is being played in Charlotte, N.C. this week. Old Dominion earned a No. 8 seed and will take on No. 1 seeded North Texas tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. This match can be viewed live in HD via C-USA TV.
