IRVING, Texas -- Lamarr Pottinger, the Director of Student-Athlete Development, has been selected to represent Conference USA at the 2016-17 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum Nov. 10-13 in Baltimore, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Pottinger, who is in his first year with Old Dominion after being hired in July of 2016, was selected to be one of the facilitators for the forum. Pottinger will join student-athletes Danielle Block of Southern Miss and Aron Taylor of UTSA, along with UAB SAAC Coordinator Caitlin Callaghan, as the C-USA representatives.
More than 200 NCAA student-athletes representing all sports and various campus academic departments will participate in this year’s event.
The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators. Student-athletes selected to attend the Forum return to campus with invaluable leadership skills, the experience of exploring the relationship between personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles, and a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives and the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC).
