TULSA, Okla. – Michael Weindl of the Old Dominion men’s tennis team advanced to the qualifying stages of the prestigious ITA All-American Championships after going a perfect 3-0 in the pre-qualifying draw. Weindl and teammates No. 110 Adam Moundir and Aziz Kijametovic will next compete in the First Round of the of the Qualifying Draw.

Weindl proved to be too much for his three opponents in the pre-qualifying draw, as he bested Sander Gjoels-Andersen of San Diego State 6-3, 6-2. In the next match, Weindl took down Hady Habib of Texas A&M in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Finally, Weindl got the better of Miguel Negre Fernandez of Middle Tennessee 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

Next up, Weindl will take on Oklahoma State’s No. 87 nationally ranked Arjun Kadhe in the First Round of the Qualifying Draw.

Also competing in the First Round of the Qualifying Draw is Old Dominion’s No. 110 nationally ranked Adam Moundir, who will square-off against Jeffrey Schorsch of Valparaiso, while Aziz Kijametovic drew No. 61 nationally ranked Billy Griffith of California.
