NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion sailing team grabbed eighth place out of 18 teams at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy hosted by Brown over the weekend, while the Lady Monarch sailors notched a 10th-place finish out of 17 teams at the MAISA Fall Women's hosted by ODU.
At the Hoyt Trophy, Dartmouth earned first place while Brown took second and Boston College placed third. The Monarchs took eighth, finishing ahead of Stanford and Harvard, among others.
Jeremy Herrin, Carter Little and Stephen Guglielmo placed 11th in Division A, while Dreugh Phillips and Gabriel Smith turned in a seventh-place finish in Division B.
St. Mary's College of Maryland clinched the team title at the MAISA Fall Women's, while Georgetown finished as the runner-up and Hobart and William Smith Colleges took third. The Lady Monarchs placed 10th.
Olivia Windemuller, Elle Wells and Tori Ewing notched a 10th-place finish in Division A. In Division B, Jocelyn Rovniak and Molly Sternberg finished in 11th place.
The ODU sailors get back on the water on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the War Memorial in St. Mary's, Maryland.
