HOUSTON, Texas – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (5-9-0, 3-3-0 C-USA) will travel to Texas this weekend for two Conference USA showdowns against two teams currently in a tie for fourth place in the conference standings. First on Friday, Oct. 21 at 8:00 p.m. EST, ODU will take on Rice (8-4-1, 5-2-0 C-USA) in Houston, before squaring-off against North Texas (10-4-1, 5-1-0 C-USA) in Denton on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2:00 p.m.
Both matches can be viewed live in HD via C-USA TV.
The Lady Monarchs enter the weekend in a three-way tie for seventh place. The top eight out of 14 teams make the Conference USA Tournament. Old Dominion has four matches remaining in the regular season, three against opponents currently higher than ODU in the standings. After six straight games at home, all four of the Lady Monarchs remaining contests are on the road. Old Dominion will look to pick up its first road win of the season this weekend.
ODU has been led by Madison Hogan (four goals and one assist) and Iris Achterhof’s (three goals and three assists) nine points so far this season. Kathryn Hill follows with five points off two goals and an assist.
Rice enters Friday’s matchup with an 8-4-1 overall record and a 5-2-0 mark in league play. The Owls are currently riding a four-match win streak, with C-USA wins over Middle Tennessee, UTEP, UTSA and Southern Miss.
North Texas enters the weekend with a 10-4-1 overall record and a 5-1-0 mark in Conference USA play.
