NORFOLK, Va. -- The No. 15 Old Dominion field hockey team (2-1, 0-0 BIG EAST) is set for a pair of in-state road matchups this week, as the Lady Monarchs will head to Richmond Friday, Sept. 9 for a 3 p.m. game before taking on former CAA rival William & Mary on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m.

ODU enters the weekend after taking down 14th-ranked Delaware, 3-2 OT, last Friday night at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. After freshmen Erin Huffman and Rebecca Birch scored goals during regulation, senior Casey Dolan found the back of the net past Delaware's outstretched goalkeeper to propel the Lady Monarchs to victory.

Both Huffman and Dolan were honored by the conference for their efforts against Delaware, as both Lady Monarchs were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

In this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll, Old Dominion jumped up five slots from No. 20 to No. 15, the second-highest ranking of all BIG EAST teams.

The Richmond Spiders (2-2, 0-0 Atlantic 10) head into Friday's matchup after splitting road games last weekend, defeating Ball State, 1-0, before falling to 12th-ranked Louisville, 5-1. Against common opponents, the Spiders dropped their season opener to American, 3-1. The preseason favorite in the Atlantic 10, Richmond is led by Preseason All-Conference selections Kelly Quinn and Megan Miller.

William & Mary (0-3, 0-0 CAA) heads into the weekend still looking for its first win of the season after falling to Rutgers, 2-1, and American, 3-0, last weekend. In a high-scoring season opener, the Tribe fell to No. 4 Duke, 8-4. William & Mary is led by CAA Preseason All-Conference selection Booter Ellis and honorable mentions Erin Menges and Cammie Lloyd.
