ODU Plays at Undefeated Wake Forest Friday on ESPN3

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (2-4-0) will travel to take on undefeated Wake Forest (6-0-0) of the ACC on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Spry Stadium. The match will air live on ESPN 3, CLICK HERE for the link. The Demon Deacons received 31 votes in the most recent NSCAA Coaches’ Poll.

Wake Forest has gone over five matches now without allowing a goal, totaling 499 minutes since an opponent found the back of the net.

Old Dominion is coming off a 5-1 win over East Carolina of the American Athletic Conference on Sunday night. The Lady Monarchs’ five goals is the most since 2012 and marks the highest scoring output during head coach Angie Hind’s tenure.

ODU’s Madison Hogan struck twice within just 10 minutes in the first half. Iris Achterhof scored her first goal of the season, while teammate Kyra Ricks scored her first goal of her collegiate career. Fellow freshman Alex Davidson also scored for Hind’s Lady Monarchs, giving her two for the season. Old Dominion’s Krista Moisio made four saves in the winning effort.

Wake Forest enters Friday night’s showdown with a 6-0-0 overall record and is 4-0-0 at home. The Demon Deacons have defeated San Diego (2-1), La Salle (1-0), FIU (4-0), UNCG (3-0), Dartmouth (1-0) and New Hampshire (4-0).
