NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (3-7-0, 1-1-0 C-USA) will host a pair of C-USA opponents at the ODU Soccer Complex this week, starting with UTSA (5-5-0, 1-0-0 C-USA) on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m. and then UTEP (7-2-2, 0-1-0) on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 12:30 p.m. All dogs are welcome to the game on Sunday for ODU’s ‘Sunday Dog Days’ promotion. Both matches can be viewed live in HD through C-USA TV.
The Lady Soccer Monarchs moved to 1-1-0 in Conference USA play after taking down Florida Atlantic last Friday night by a 1-0 score in front of over 700 fans at the ODU Soccer Complex. Madison Hogan found Iris Achterhof for the match’s lone goal. Hogan and Achterhof are currently tied for first on the team for points with seven each, respectively.
Old Dominion has played the 28th toughest schedule in NCAA Division I so far this season, while Achterhof is tied for fourth in the C-USA for game-winning goals with two.
UTSA enters Friday’s match with a 5-5-0 overall record and a 1-0-0 mark in Conference USA play. The Roadrunners are coming off a 3-2 victory over Middle Tennessee.
UTEP starts the week with a 7-2-2 overall record and a 0-1-0 mark in C-USA play. The Miners are coming off a tough 1-0 double-overtime loss at UAB. UTEP will square-off at Charlotte on Friday night before arriving in Norfolk for Sunday’s showdown.
The top eight out of 14 teams earn a spot in the 2016 Conference USA Tournament held in Charlotte N.C. on Nov. 2-6.
