RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico -- Maggie Simmermacher (Argentina) and Katerina Vlasinova (Czech Republic) are both slated to represent their home countries in the World Amateur Team Championships Sept. 14-17 at the Mayakoba El Camaleon Golf Club in Mexico.
The international tournament, held every two years, features the top two or three amateur golfers of over 125 countries. Each country plays 18 holes of stroke play for four days. In each round, the total of the two lowest scores from each team constitutes the team score for the round. The four-day (72-hole) total is the team’s score for the championship.
Last year, Simmermacher was an All-Conference USA Second Team selection after placing 10th at the C-USA Championships, while Vlasinova was named to the All-C-USA Third Team.
