NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s tennis junior Adam Moundir (Luzern, Switzerland) is preseason ranked No. 110 in singles, while Moundir and sophomore teammate Aziz Kijametovic (Zivinice, Bosnia & Herzegovina) enter the fall season ranked No. 23 in doubles, according to the first 2016-17 Oracle/ITA Division I Men's Collegiate Tennis Rankings released on Tuesday afternoon.

Last season, Moundir was named the C-USA Player of the Year, the Most Outstanding Player of the Conference USA Tournament and earned All-Conference USA Singles First Team recognition after compiling a 17-5 record in the No. 1 slot and posted a 5-0 mark against C-USA opponents. He claimed victory in 16 of his last 18 matches and ended the year on a 12-match win-streak. Furthermore, the Swiss product defeated three nationally ranked opponents, including a straight-set win over No. 18 Dovydas Sakinis of Dartmouth. He was a two-time C-USA Player of the Week, as well as a C-USA Honor Roll honoree a season ago.

As a doubles pair, Kijametovic and Moundir compiled an 11-5 record at the No. 1 doubles spot and ended the season ranked 66th in the country.

Moundir and Kijametovic punched their tickets to the 2015 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. after capturing the crown at the regional championships at Virginia Tech last October.

Moundir, Kijametovic and the rest of the Tennis Monarchs will kick-off the fall season this weekend at the Penn Invitational.
