NEW YORK -- Old Dominion field hockey players Erin Huffman and Kealsie Robles were honored by the BIG EAST conference Monday for their performances over the weekend. Huffman was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week while Robles earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Huffman, a freshman from Annville, Pennsylvania, posted her third goal of the season off a penalty stroke to help guide ODU to a 2-1 triumph at William & Mary on Sunday. The win was the Lady Monarchs' fourth-straight victory of the season.
Robles, a sophomore from Yorktown, Virginia, made nine total saves and posted a .818 save percentage in both of the Lady Monarchs' victories over the weekend. Against Richmond, Robles made six saves to help propel ODU to a 3-1 win. On Sunday at William & Mary, her three saves helped Old Dominion earn a 2-1 win.
After scoring her second game winning goal of the season on Sunday at William & Mary, senior Casey Dolan was also honored by the conference on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
