NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University sailing head coach Mitch Brindley added Tyler Colvin to his staff as an assistant coach.
Colvin joins the Monarch Sailing Team after a brief stint in California at Encinal Yacht Club where he was Program Director. Previously he was an assistant coach with the Boston College Eagles. He helped lead the Eagles to nine regular season regatta wins and helping the team to consecutive appearances in Women’s, Coed and Team Race National Championships finishing as high as second.
Colvin graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Environmental and Water Resource Engineering, and completed his Master’s course work from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He sailed for the Wildcats as well, competing on a national and international level in J/24s and Etchells.
Old Dominion returns to the water on Saturday, September 10 with a home event at the ODU Sailing Center as well as an away event at the U.S. Naval Academy.
