Rutherford Named to Cape Cod All-League Team

CAPE COD, Mass. -- Old Dominion shortstop Zach Rutherford was named to the Cape Cod All-League Team, league commissioner Paul Galop announced on Wednesday. 

Rutherford, playing for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, hit .278 with four home runs and 20 RBIs. The Chesapeake native also scored a team-high 21 runs, while adding 11 doubles and five stolen bases in 43 games played.

In addition to his all-league selection, Rutherford was also named the Cape Cod All-Star Game MVP after going 3-for-3 with a double, home run and two RBIs to help lead the West Team to an 8-0 victory. 

Overall, the Hyannis Harbor Hawks went 17-27 during the regular season before making an 0-2 exit playoffs. 

Student-athletes from Virginia, LSU, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Florida State and several other DI programs were also represented on the team. View the complete Cape Cod All-League Team here
