NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (1-1, 0-0) will host in-state and former CAA rival, VCU (0-2, 0-0) on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.

The Lady Soccer Monarchs went 1-1 in the opening week of the 2016 season, suffering a tough 2-1 loss at George Mason on Friday night, before claiming a 2-1 victory over Richmond at home on Sunday night. Three different ODU players have scored already in the first two games: freshman Alex Davidson, senior Kathryn Hill and junior Madison Hogan (GW).

Old Dominion’s junior goalkeeper Krista Moisio has played all 180 minutes protecting the net for the Lady Monarchs, compiling seven total saves for a 3.5 per game average, while allowing 1.5 goals per game.

VCU enters Thursday night’s match with a 0-2 record, after dropping both games in the JMU Invitational last weekend to Northwestern (L, 0-1, OT) and then Arkansas (L, 0-2). The Rams finished fourth in last season's regular season standings in the Atlantic 10, and return top goal scorer, Julia Suarez, who netted eight goals and five assists in the 2015 campaign.

LOOKING AHEAD FOR THE LADY SOCCER MONARCHS
Old Dominion will hit the road for a showdown against No. 4 Virginia in Charlottesville on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 2:00 p.m.
