BARCELONA, Spain – Ten Monarchs scored, as the Old Dominion men’s basketball team defeated Union Sportive Toulouges from France by a 55-40 score on Monday in the third of four total games on the Spain trip.
Ahmad Caver paced ODU with 11 points, followed by Zoran Talley’s 10 points. Brandan Stith went for eight points and 12 rebounds. Also dominating the boards were Trey Porter, who collected 10, while Denzell Taylor hauled down nine.
After an even (14-14) first quarter, the Monarchs outscored their opponent 19-1 in the second quarter to claim a 33-15 lead at halftime, before ultimately cruising to the 15-point victory.
Yesterday, the travel party went to the Flamenco Show at Los Tarrantos. This morning the team toured F.C. Barcelona’s stadium and facilities.
The Monarchs will play their fourth and final game tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 23 against the Catalan All-Stars. Old Dominion will return to Norfolk on Thursday, Aug. 25th.
