BALTIMORE, Md. – After trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Old Dominion University women’s soccer team rallied to play Towson to a 2-2 draw in the final exhibition match of the 2016 season on a hot Saturday afternoon at the Tiger Soccer Complex.

ODU freshman Keri Vornadore’s (Fairfax, Va.) goal equalized the score at 1-1 in the second half. The Tigers answered right back with a goal in the 72nd minute, giving Towson a 2-1 advantage with 18 minutes remaining.

In the 80th minute, another Lady Monarch newcomer, Talia Tapper (Virginia Beach, Va.), scored from 20 yards out, tying the score and ultimately the match, 2-2.

ODU senior goalkeeper, Erin Kinz (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) protected the net in the first half, while junior newcomer Krista Moisio (Tampere, Finland) played keeper for the second 45 minutes of action.

NEXT UP FOR THE LADY SOCCER MONARCHS
Old Dominion will open up the 2016 regular season at George Mason on Aug. 19. ODU will have its regular season home opener on Aug. 21 against Richmond.
