BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Old Dominion women’s soccer team will play its second and final exhibition game against Towson in Baltimore this Saturday at 12 p.m. before commencing the official slate on Friday, Aug. 19 at George Mason.

ODU is coming off a thrilling 2-1 exhibition win over VMI on Aug. 10. After the teams traded goals in the second half, the Lady Monarchs’ Kira Laurento broke the 1-1 deadlock with just 47 seconds left in the contest, scoring off a Kyra Ricks’ saved shot. For the scrimmage, Old Dominion held advantages in shots (22-3) and corners (8-1).

The Towson Tigers enter Saturday’s exhibition after finishing the 2015 season 7-8-4 overall with a 1-6-2 mark in the Colonial Athletic Association. Senior Natalia Pinkney, who was recently named a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention, leads the Tigers after scoring seven goals and accounting for 15 points last season. In the Preseason CAA Coaches’ Poll, Towson was picked to finish ninth.

ODU takes the pitch again on Friday, Aug. 19 when the Lady Soccer Monarchs travel to George Mason for a 7 p.m. season opener.
