CHATHAM, Mass. -- Rising junior Zach Rutherford was named the Cape Cop League All-Star Game MVP following a 3-for-3 performance with a home run and two RBIs on Saturday night at Veterans Field.
Rutherford, who plays for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, started at shortstop for the West Division, helping lead the West to an 8-0 victory. The Chesapeake, Virginia, native also added a double and a run scored.
Rutherford is hitting .308 for the Harbor Hawks during the regular season with three home runs and 18 RBIs, while his 15 extra-base hits lead the Cape Cod League. Last year, Rutherford hit .311 for the Monarchs with two home runs and 29 RBIs.
