SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Old Dominion University Sailing won the Gill Coed Eastern Semifinals with a score of 118. The Monarchs qualified for the Gill Coed Championships starting tomorrow.
The Monarchs tied with St. Mary's but won earned the win on the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The Division A team featured Esteban Forrer and Gabriel Smith for the first 10 races, then switched to Joseph David and Katelyn Talley for the final eight races. Over the two day semifinal, the Division A squad earned nine top-five finishes.
The Division B team of Augie Dale, Kaylie Gallagher, Jeremy Herrin and Grace Mason took second place. The group scored four race wins and seven top-five finishes.
The top nine boats in each semifinal advanced to the finals starting tomorrow. The scores from the semifinals do not count towards the finals.
