Rowing Lands 22 on Academic All-Big 12 Team

IRVING, Texas -- A total of 22 members of the Old Dominion rowing team were named to the Big 12 All-Academic Team, the league announced on Tuesday.

The 22 selections is an improvement from the 19 student-athletes that were named to last year's team. Of the 22 Lady Monarchs named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team, 13 are repeat selections from last year's team.

A detailed list of each ODU student-athlete named to the team can be found below.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must have a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers were not eligible. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation were also eligible.

Old Dominion is back in action this weekend at the Big 12 Rowing Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Competition will start on Saturday morning and will end on Sunday afternoon, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship.
