HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Old Dominion's senior outfielder Connor Myers and junior pitcher Sam Sinnen earned all-conference recognition, as the league’s baseball awards were announced on Tuesday in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, site of the 2016 Conference USA Baseball Championship presented by Buffalo Wild Wings.

A 2016 Preseason All-Conference selection, Myers earned his second career postseason accolade and first since ODU joined Conference USA, after being named Second Team All-Conference. He started in all 54 games for the Monarchs and finished the regular season as the team leader with a .319 batting average. In his 207 at bats, he recorded 66 hits, including 17 doubles and a team-high six home runs. He also knocked in 42 RBIs, which is good for third in C-USA. The senior from Middletown, Md. holds a .488 slugging percentage and a .389 on-base percentage and ranks sixth in the conference with 18 stolen bases in 25 attempts.

Sinnen, a repeat Second Team All-Conference selection, finished the regular season with a 6-1 record in 12 starts and 15 appearances and ranks third on the team with a 4.08 ERA in a team-leading 70.2 innings pitched. During his time on the mound, he has fanned 52 batters to lead all ODU pitchers and has struck out 4+ batters in nine games, including a season-high six three times. In just C-USA games, Sinnen ranks fourth in the league in wins (5) and 11th in strikeouts (37) and has pitched at least five innings in 11 of his 12 starts. The junior from Virginia Beach highlighted the year by being named 2016's first C-USA Pitcher of the Week after throwing five shutout innings against No. 10 NC State.

The Monarchs begin the 2016 Conference USA Baseball Championship tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET against No. 3 and host Southern Miss. The game will be broadcast on STAR 1310 with Ted Alexander and Doug Ripley on the call. Each game of the championship from Wednesday through Saturday will be also streamed live on the C-USA Digital Network. The championship game of the tournament on Sunday, May 29 will be televised live by CBS Sports Network, beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
