NORFOLK, Va. -- Ashmore Standing has been named the Inside Lacrosse StringKing National Player of the Week, ILWomen.com announced on Wednesday.
The Virginia Beach native garnered over 50 percent of the fan vote after scoring seven goals and adding three assists during ODU's run to the Atlantic Sun Championship this weekend that earned the program its first-ever NCAA bid.
In the semifinal win over Furman, Standing scored four goals and added three ground balls and one draw control. She then tallied three goals, three assists, three draw controls and two caused turnovers in the championship against Detroit.
For her efforts, Standing, who was also tabbed as the A-Sun Player of the Year, was named to the conference's All-Tournament Team.
The seven-goal performance brings Standing's season total to 66, which is just one goal shy and two away from breaking the ODU single-season record of 67 set by Cathy Large in 1987.
