Spring Football Practice: Day Nine Recap

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Football practice for the ninth time this spring and for the second time at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

The Monarchs completed approximately a 70 play scrimmage that also included 7-on-7 drills and special teams work on punt and field goal units.

Early in the scrimmage the offense moved to the five yardline of the defense but safety Christian Byrum stepped in front of a pass at the goalline for an interception that he returned to midfield.

The following series redshirt freshman running back Gemonta Jackson secured a first down with a 25-yard run up the middle.

The next series the offense was backed up at its own 15 when Scott Wiggins and Miles Fox combined on a sack and Oshane Ximines followed with a knockdown of a pass.

The offense came back with a 45-yard pass from Shuler Bentley to Travis Fulgham.

The defense continued to proudce big plays as Isaiah Worthy and Fox added sacks while Bunmi Rotimi added a tackle for loss.

In red zone offense, Jeremy Cox ran through several defenders for a 20-yard touchdown run.
