GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team secured a fourth-place finish out of 13 participating teams at the ECU Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Individually, Seth Sweet and David Langley tied for fifth place among 79 golfers.
Host school East Carolina, ranked No. 47 nationally, won the team title, while Florida Gulf Coast and Campbell tied for second place. ODU finished in fourth.
Langley fired a 77 and Sweet shot a three-over 75 in the third and final round to land the pair of Monarchs in a tie with one another for fifth place. Ashton Newsom and Antonio Cruz-Conde also tied with one another for 32nd place.
Old Dominion finished in fourth place for par four scoring average (4.35) and in second for par five scoring average (4.97). The Monarchs also tied for first for most eagles with Florida Gulf Coast, as each team had two apiece.
Sweet tied for most pars of all 79 golfers with 37. Langley finished with the second-best par four scoring average (4.07) and Cruz-Conde recorded the second-best par five scoring average (4.50). Langley and Greschner were also just two of eight golfers in the tournament to sink an eagle.
The Monarchs head to the Greenbrier Invitational in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia on April 10.
