NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion baseball program, in conjunction with this weekend’s UAB series, would like to invite former ODU baseball players back to Norfolk to relive old memories, share past stories and re-connect with former teammates and coaches. Instead of just one day of recognition, the Monarchs will start a new tradition of “Alumni Weekend” that will take place April 29-May 1 at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.
“We always look forward to alumni day and now alumni weekend,” said head coach Chris Finwood. “It is special to see former Monarchs come back and continue to show their support for their alma mater. It is amazing how many people have been a part of the proud tradition and success that is Old Dominion baseball.”
All alumni and friends are encouraged to attend the series opener on Friday at 6 p.m. against the UAB Blazers before the festivities begin on Saturday. Game two is highlighted by an event in Rally Alley with barbeque and drinks. All alumni are invited and are welcome to bring one guest.
If you are planning on attending, please email baseball director of operations B.J. Burton at bburton@odu.edu with your name and the name of your guest. Your RSVP gains you access to the game and the event in Rally Alley.
