MERCER, Ga. -- For the second time this season, Ashmore Standing has been named the Atlantic Sun's Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Standing, a senior attacker, scored her 150th career goal in the win over Kennesaw State on Sunday, becoming just the fourth player in ODU lacrosse history to achieve the milestone. Standing joins Suzanne Wosczyna, Anne Windover and Cathy Large in the 150-goal club.
The Virginia Beach native led the Lady Monarchs to a 2-0 weekend, notching double-digit wins over Mercer and Kennesaw State. Standing scored three goals and added two assists in the 16-4 victory over Mercer and then followed that up with a six-goal performance in the 18-7 win over KSU.
Overall, Standing's 48-goal total for the season leads the A-Sun and ranks fifth in the NCAA. She is also just 19 goals away from tying the ODU single-season goal record of 67 set by Cathy Large in 1987.
This marks the second time that an ODU player has been named player of the week. Standing also earned the honor on March 15.
