IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion's Maggie Simmermacher was named to the 2015-16 Conference USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team, as was released by the conference office on Thursday. The announcement comes just one day after the sophomore from Buenos Aires, Argentina was honored by C-USA as the Player of the Week for the fifth time in her career.
On the golf course, Simmermacher has registered four top-10 finishes in her sophomore campaign, taking fourth at the Lady Pirate Invite in September, fifth at the Henssler Financial in March, ninth at Golfweek in September and recently claiming 10th at the River Landing Classic. She was also named C-USA Women's Golfer of the Week twice this year.
In the classroom, the Lady Monarch maintains a 3.68 cumulative GPA while majoring in marketing. The 2015 C-USA Freshman of the Year was also honored for academics at the conclusion of last season, as she was dubbed a Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar.

Simmermacher will lead the Lady Monarchs to Fort Myers, Florida this weekend to compete in the Conference USA Championships from April 18-20.
