NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 44 Old Dominion men’s tennis team (18-4) will play its last match of the regular season at home this Sunday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. against Conference USA foe Middle Tennessee State (16-8). Sunday’s match will also be Senior Day for ODU’s Darragh Glavin and Zvonimir Podvinski.

ODU has won 16 of its last 17 matches, including wins against five nationally ranked teams.

Senior Darragh Glavin, a native of Ireland, has given everything he has for the Old Dominion men’s tennis program over the last four years. He is 3-1 in doubles for the Tennis Monarchs this season. Glavin has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll numerous times throughout his academic career. Glavin is also a leader off the court for the Tennis Monarchs, holding a seat on Old Dominion Athletics’ Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Senior captain Zvonimir Podvinksi, a native of Croatia, boasts a 15-4 singles record this season and at one point won eight matches in a row. Podvinski impressively compiled an overall career singles record of 54-20, and is currently tying his single season win record of 15.

Other Tennis Monarch standouts this season for ODU is reigning C-USA Player of the Week Adam Moundir after going a seamless 3-0 last week. Moundir is 13-5 in the No. 1 slot for the nationally ranked Monarchs. It is the fourth weekly honor for ODU men's tennis this season and the second for Moundir (Feb. 9).

Old Dominion’s Aziz Kijametovic holds an impressive 16-2 singles record, along with a No. 61 national ranking in doubles with Adam Moundir, adding to his impressive freshman campaign. ODU’s sophomore Michael Weindl is also on a roll for the Tennis Monarchs, who has only lost once at the No. 3 position.

Middle Tennessee State (16-8) is coming off two straight wins and have been nationally ranked for most of the season, but are 1-5 when facing ranked opponents. The Blue Raiders are led by freshman Gonzalo Morell, an Australia native, who holds a 7-2 mark at the No. 1 position with his two losses coming at the hands of ranked singles opponents.
