IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion freshman Nick Rencis was named Conference USA Co-Men's Golfer of the Week for the first time in his young career on Wednesday, as was announced by the conference office.

Competing in just his fourth collegiate event, the Long Valley, New Jersey native captured first place out of 89 participants at the Greenbrier Collegiate Invite in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia on Tuesday after firing a 71-71-65=207. Rencis entered the third and final day of the tournament in sixth place but shot a five-under 65 to catapult himself into the first-place slot.

Because he competed as an individual, Rencis' score did not count toward Old Dominion's team total.

With the announcement, Rencis becomes the second Monarch freshman to earn C-USA Men's Golfer of the Week honors this season, as Calvin Greschner earned the distinction on October 7.
