WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. -- Seth Sweet fired a three-under 67 in round one and a two-over 72 in round two of the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational to land himself in third place out of 89 golfers at the conclusion of day one. As a team, the Monarchs are tied for fourth place out of 17 schools. 

East Tennessee State leads the team race through two rounds, while Western Kentucky is in second place and Eastern Kentucky is in third. Old Dominion and Marshall are tied for fourth place after day one of the tournament. 

Sweet, who led all 89 participants for much of the first two rounds, currently sits in third place, just one stroke behind the first-place golfers. Competing as an individual, ODU freshman Nick Rencis capped off an impressive first day of the event, firing a one-over 71 in both rounds to land himself in sixth place. Ashton Newsom is in 24th place and David Langley is in 30th after two rounds. 

The Monarchs will wrap up the third and final round of the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational tomorrow with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
