HOUSTON, Texas – Old Dominion University senior guard Trey Freeman will play in the Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game on Friday, April 1 in Houston tonight at 5:30 pm. The game will be played at NRG Stadium, site of the 2016 Final Four. It will be televised on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. ET.
Freeman will be on the West team along with Wichita State’s Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet, West Virginia’s Jaysean Paige, Texas A&M’s Danuel House and Jalen Jones, Stephen F. Austin’s Thomas Walkup, Weber State’s Joel Bolomboy, Michigan State’s Matt Costello and Evansville’s Egidijus Mockevicius.
The East squad will include Georgetown’s D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Louisville’s Trey Lewis, Pittsburgh’s James Robinson, Butler’s Kellen Dunham, Northeastern’s David Walker, Louisville’s Damion Lee, Yale’s Justin Sears, Virginia’s Anthony Gill, George Mason’s Shevon Thompson and Toledo’s Nathan Boothe.
Freeman led Conference USA with 22.1 points per game and led the Monarchs with 115 assists and 39 steals.
The coaches are Doug Collins, a former Illinois State All-America player and NBA star, who coached four different NBA teams, coaching the East. Former Maryland All-America John Lucas, a 14-year veteran who also coached with three different NBA teams, will coach the West.
