HOUSTON, Texas – Old Dominion (18-12, 11-6 C-USA) visits Rice (12-18, 7-10 C-USA) on Saturday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. EST for the 2015-16 regular season finale. The game will air on the American Sports Network (ASN). Saturday will also mark Senior Day for the Owls.

ODU has claimed victory in eight of its last 11 contests. The Monarchs are now 6-2 on the road in Conference USA play this season.

These two squads met earlier this season on Feb. 13 at the Ted, in a game which Trey Freeman poured in a game-high 27 points, but Old Dominion fell to Rice, 75-66, on Alumni Day. The loss snapped ODU’s four-game winning streak.

Overall, the Monarchs shot just 34.7 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from beyond arc, while Rice connected on 46.5 percent of its field goal attempts and 45.5 percent of its three-point attempts. The Owls also held a 42-38 advantage on the boards.

Aaron Bacote was the only other Monarch in double figures with 13 points, while Brandan Stith added six points and hauled in a career-high 16 rebounds.

For Rice, Chesapeake native Marcus Evans led the way with 20 points and seven rebounds and Egor Koulechov added 17 points and seven boards.

The victory was Rice's first ever win over Old Dominion.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Old Dominion holds the all-time series against Rice 4-1 as the Monarchs swept the Owls last season with nearly identical final scores (63-53 and 63-54). The team first met in 1971-72 season.

Denzell Taylor scored 12 points and hauled down four rebounds, while Brandan Stith recorded seven points (3-3 FG), eight rebounds and three blocks in just 15 minutes of work. Nik Biberaj finished with eight points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
