ATLANTA, Ga. - Old Dominion University senior swimmer Reed Mathews earned 17th place in the 200 fly at the NCAA Swimming Championships at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center Saturday afternoon.
Mathews finished in 17th, just one spot off of qualifying for the finals, with a time 1:43.29. Mick Litherland of Georgia took 16th place with a time of 1:42.98.
The day earlier, Mathews finished in 43rd in the 100 fly.
A native of Denver, Colo., Mathews ends his ODU career with records in the 100 and 200 fly and set the CCSA record in the 200 fly.
