IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion women's golfer Katerina Vlasinova was named Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week today for her ninth place finish at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic, the nation's largest collegiate golf tournament.
The Lady Monarch sophomore golfer out of Trebic, Czech Republic tied for ninth out of 216 golfers after firing a one-under 71 in the third and final round at Osprey Point Golf Course. Vlasinova sunk 10 birdies and 33 pars and tied for third in par-4 scoring (3.89/-3) in the 72-hole event.
The strong performance from Vlasinova helped the Lady Monarchs register fourth place as a team in the 41-team event.
This is the first C-USA Women's Golfer of the Week honor for Vlasinova, who will be back in action with the ODU Lady Monarchs on March 7-8 at the North Florida Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Florida.
