First Ever Women?s Soccer Awards Banquet Was A Great Success

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team celebrated their first awards luncheon at the ODU Rowing Facility on Saturday, Feb. 27. The program commemorated a successful 2015 season where the Lady Monarchs compiled an 8-12-1 record, and advanced to the Conference-USA tournament for the first time in program history, where they took down the No. 3 seed FAU to continue on to the semi-finals.

Several players received awards for their performance on and off the pitch this fall, including Kathryn Hill, Iris Achterhof, Grace Haverly, Deirdre Bradley and Madison Hogan. Graduating seniors and former captains, Devin Dougherty and Jordan Jones were also honored for their service to the program. Additionally, ODU head coach Angie Hind and returning captain Grace Haverly took the time to thank the parents, friends and ODU athletic support staff for their invaluable support and dedication to the team this past season.

The Lady Monarchs will be in action for their spring season opener on Friday, March 4 at VMI at 7:30 p.m.
