NORFOLK, Va. -- After earning her second Conference USA Player of the Week honor last season, redshirt junior guard Jennie Simms was named to the C-USA Player of the Week honor roll, the league announced on Monday.

Simms averaged a monstrous 26.5 points, including a 39-point onslaught at UTSA last week. She was just shy of a double-double against the top Conference USA team, as she put up 14 points and eight rebounds against UTEP. On Saturday against the Roadrunners, she shot 50.0 percent from the floor (10-20) and went 18-for-21 from the charity stripe. Her 21 free-throw attempts, 18 free-throws made and 39 points are the most by any C-USA player this season.

So far, Simms has been the only C-USA player to score 35-plus points on three occasions this season. She leads the league with 21.4 points per game and 20.3 points per game overall. Her overall point total ranks 26th in the nation and she also sits in seventh in C-USA assists (4.1).

The Lady Monarchs are back in action this week at the Ted Constant Center for the last regular season games of the year. ODU will face North Texas on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Rice on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
