NEW LONDON, Conn -- The Old Dominion sailing team competed at the Hap Moore Team Race in New London, Conn. over the weekend to kick-off competition for the month of November.
Six Monarchs combined for a 10th place result at the Hap Moore Team Race hosted by the Coast Guard. Skippers Alec Chicoine, Lee Dumaliang and Jack Elkin raced alongside Lily Brady, Carter Little and Katelyn Talley to finish ahead of SUNY Maritime and Vermont.
The Hap Moore Team Race featured the FJ/Z420 boats and concluded with Brown capturing the team title. St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Boston College rounded out the top three. The Monarchs finished just behind ninth-place Harvard.
The ODU sailors hit the water again this weekend for the Atlantic Coast Coed’s here in Norfolk while the Atlantic Coast Women’s Championships will run simultaneously in St. Mary’s, Md.
